King’s College is Brisbane’s pre-eminent Residential College, helping young women and men reach their full potential and become the best version of themselves.

About King’s College

Founded in 1912, King’s College within The University of Queensland (UQ) is a thriving co-educational community servicing 420 residents and associate members studying undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Brisbane-based tertiary institutions. The College is an inclusive and diverse community drawn from country and suburban areas throughout Australia as well as many other nations.

King’s has some of the best facilities of any residential college in Australia. In addition to spacious, fully furnished rooms, the College offers a dedicated Learning Centre, well-equipped gymnasium including weights and cardio rooms, swimming pool, rowing shed and pontoon, 24-hour access to technology, half basketball court with barbeque facilities and (limited) car parking. The Common Room & King’s Bar & Lounge areas include a pool table and Smart TV for all streaming requirements.

Along with opportunities to thrive culturally and in sports, the College is committed to academic success through the offering of a range of academic programs and services, including course specific tutorials, workshops, and seminars. Throughout the academic year, King’s runs a comprehensive tutorial program involving more than 130 tutorials per week delivered by over 60 teaching staff in a range of academic disciplines. Specialised study and careers-related workshops, seminars, and events are also on offer to help students improve their study skills and prepare for the workforce. In addition, a team of Residential Leaders (RLs), employed by the College, provide ongoing guidance, support, and oversight to all College members. The King’s College Student Club (KCSC) offer a wide range of activities and events throughout the year that build community, friendships, and memories that last a lifetime.

Historically, King’s College has produced outstanding talent including Rhodes Scholars, Queensland Greats, University Medalists, First Class Honourees, and UQ Distinguished Alumni and Young Alumnus of the Year recipients.
